»The magazine IDIOME launched by Florian Neuner and Lisa Spalt in 2007, was from the very beginning a collaboration between Vienna and Berlin. Starting with the first issue, it has been promoting prose from the entire German-speaking area. The spectrum of historic texts of the neo-avantgarde in first publications and republications (Chris Bezzel, Dieter Roth) extends as far as the latest literary works (Ann Cotten, Robert Prosser). Already in the second editorial, the editor was able to recapitulate: „Beginning with the planning stage to publish ‘Hefte fuer Neue Prosa’ only one permissible conclusion existed: The existence of anticipation. Not only those authors, who still had not been dissuaded from writing a form of prose reaching beyond novels and short stories, approved of the project launched by Lisa Spalt and me. The art of language published in IDIOME found its readers, too.«
